War of the Wards

After watching Blindness I find myself questioning why I wanted to see this movie in the first place.  Basically, the world starts to become infected by a strange illness that causes blindness.  The government’s solution is to send those infected to an abandoned hospital where the unlucky individuals have to fend for themselves.   What first seems like a small problem, soon begins to plague thousands and the hospital fills up quickly.  When a few sour apples enter the building all hell breaks loose.  One of those apples smuggles in a gun and soon enough he has everyone broken up by ward, each paying him for food.

There are 3 scenes in the movie that aren’t completely painful to watch, but otherwise the movie is positively horrible.

Four Things I learned from Blindness:

1.  A sudden boute of blindness might cause an irresistible urge to rip off your clothes, it must be the age old saying “I cant see you… you cant see me”

2. Infidelity is an acceptable side effect of blindness.

3. Contrary to what people might think, blind people can see.

4. When in large crowds it is a necessity for the blind to wear matching orange coats if you want to stick together.
